Corrupted .m4a file only partly recoverable

I tried to save a corrupted .m4a recording for a friend. First I thought only the Header was buggy so I followed this guide http://sysfrontier.com/en/2014/12/31/hello-world/

But sadly that only restored 12 minutes of the whole 32 minute interview into the raw file. Do you guys see any other way to restore the rest cause this costy online tool says it could restore 29 minutes at least: https://mp4repair.org/pwt6/preview.html

I haven't really found any other solutions, so do you think this is even possible when the raw .wav is only 12 Minutes long or is the tool just lying?
