How can I post to a page I own on facebook from a ruby on rails backend?

I have a website, and when certain things happen, I'd like to post to the related FB page for the site.

I've looked around the web and there's a lot of information out there that's confusing and disorganized.

Is there a ruby Gem for this? Or does it have to be done via javascript in the browser?
