How to Store Large Data in memory without out.of.memory exceptio

I m making an Android app that reads a file of a almost 3-5mb split some data and stores them in a hash map but my app crashes with out of memory,how do i overcome this. I searched codes to read large files efficiently but it didn't worked. Any idea how should i use the data.
