Local Apache and remote mySQL server PDO connection is too much slow

I have two machines:

Machine 1 : local laptop - ubuntu - apache2

Machine 2 : remote server - centos - mariaDB

Now if I try to create a PDO connection from machine 1 to machine 2 its taking too much time, approx 1 minute.

for mysqli connections its taking no time.
