What's the difference between Transition (Elastic) and Transition Fade

As a fresher to css I not able to understand the difference between Elastic Transition and Fade Transition.

Based on the example provided on http://www.jacklmoore.com/colorbox/example3/

I not able to identify difference between the two examples 3.1 and 3.2 as a lay man it seems both are identical.
