HyperV Black Screen

I rebuilt my windows server and normally to setup my VM's again I just attach an existing virtual hard disk to the VM. So when I tried this it gave me a black screen with a blinking white cursor and the vm would not boot up so I went and tried Gen 2 enable/disable secure boot, change boot order switch back to gen 1 and no success. So thinking my virtual hard disk is corrupted or something I go ahead and build a new vm from scratch new hdd and everything. Does the same thing.

This is a freshly install windows server 2016 essential.

.. the vm OS are Debian 9

Any idea ? thanks
