Template engine for JS front end and PHP back end

I have a question about views.

What template engine can I use javascript for the front end and PHP for the back end? All the examples I see they use PHP in the front end which I don't want.

Ideally, I want index.html to be the default page they go to then I place views on top of them which contain JS files.
