ffmpeg to convert mp3 file to wav of mono type audio translation

I am currently using

ffmpeg -i audio.mp3 test.wav

in addition i have used options like audio codec (-ac) (-ar) audio rate.

Note: I am currently using it for pyAudioAnalysis diarization and cannot afford the process to take much memory as the files are really long.
