I want to generate a list based on a dropdown in asp.net core

In Microsoft page, when I choose ASP.NET Core 2.1, It is showing this output

But when I am choosing ASP.NET Core 2.0 , It is showing that output

I will be very pleased if you discuss it briefly. I mean what will be the controller, model , view etc. Thank you
