Customize active and focused tab background in VSCode

Is there a way to overwrite the background color of only the tabs that are active and focused? I tried tab.activeBackground and saw that it changes the color of all the active tabs throughout multiple editor groups. I would love to change the color of only the focused tab that has the input cursor. enter image description here

Bonus question: Is it also possible to change the font color of the active tab?
