Power bi - DAX for YTD until today

I have 2 tables : one for dates and one for sales, I'm looking for a DAX that can show a comparison of last year's total sales to this present day (for example, if today is 03.12.18 i want to show sales from last year until 03.12.17 and not all of the year) without using any filters.
